Theodoros Charagionis was born in 1948 in Castella, Piraeus and completed his secondary education at model schools. In 1971 he graduated from the National Technical University of Athens with a degree in Civil Engineering, while working with the family business. After two years of military service as a reserve second lieutenant at the Civil Engineering corps, in 1973 he took over the Group's real estate development division, as project manager.

From his first project, he realized the value of car parks in city centers and created in the heart of Piraeus the Group's first underground station, long before the relative law was enacted. In his second project, in 1976, he was the first to apply in Greece the real estate development under long term operation, creating in the center of Piraeus, a multi-storey department store which was leased for 20 years to "Lambropoulos Bros" (now Notos Galleries). In 1978 he undertakes the implementation of the first shopping center in Greece under the name of "Hermion" intended to integrate the trade at Adrianou Street with that at Pandrosou-Iphestou ST., in Plaka, linking at the same time this growth with the first renovations of listed buildings in the country.

In this context, he created in 1988 a landmark building in Kolonaki, the 'Melathron', it being the award-winning building listed in the book of Guinness records as the smallest shopping center in the world.

In 1985 he became a member of the ICSC International Council of Shopping Centers and in 1990 he became member of the Urban Land Institute ULI. From 1993 through 1999 he was a member of the jury that controls and awards prizes annually for the best European shopping centers, while in the years 1997, 1998 and 1999 he was elected president of the jury of ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers). Ever since 2006, he has been also President of the Greek National Committee of ICSC.

In 1985, foreseeing the need to broaden the scope of "ACROPOLΕ", the Group's largest retail trade enterprise, he signed a long-term cooperation contract with the House of luxury goods GUCCI.

In 1999 he signed a contract with the British-Portuguese multinational SONAE SIERRA, to create a group of companies 50% -50% in Greece, for the development of large shopping centers to the highest international standards.

In 2005 he signed a contract with the Spanish multinational IMAGINARIUM, for the introduction into Greece of a new philosophy regarding children's game, with exclusive shops.

In 2009, he signed a contract for the exclusive franchise of Ferrari boutique in Greece.

A supporter of continuing education and continuing renovation, he has attended postgraduate programs at the following universities:

- Business Administration in 1996 at the STANFORD UNIVERSITY, Palo Alto (CA).
- Advanced Development and Real Estate Management and Urban Planning in the years 2001, 2002, 2003 HARVARD GSD Boston (MA).
- Leadership in 2004 at London Business School.

He is always striving to upgrade the image of our country in the international arena. After its rapid advancement following the Olympics, he believes it is a duty of both the company and himself, to contribute to the preservation and further improvement of that image.

He has attended numerous international conferences and has been invited repeatedly as a speaker at national and international conferences.

He is married and has two children who, along with his nephew, are active members of the Group.
